About

Hello! I’m Catherine, founder of Catherine Hudson Creative.

Here to chat, and inspire your every day adventures

Catherine Hudson Creative has, for 2021, become a place to talk about things that would come up over a lunch with friends; music and must-haves, holidays and houses, kids and cooking, style and shopping, as well as hosting a back catalogue of opinion pieces and interview chats with some really inspiring people.

A bit more about me? I’m a Yorkshire-born, South East-living, ex-magazine style editor and current freelance writer and celebrity manager. I worked for magazines in print and digital lifestyle journalism from 2010 to 2019, travelling as much as possible, both for and outside of work. I love print magazines but, like you, also consume a lot of media via scrolling websites, apps and podcasts via my phone. My brilliant day job these days is as celebrity and talent manager at the NSPCC and Childline, as well as being mum to my daughter and writing in my spare time.

Why a website, and how? I studied fashion journalism at university and started my career as a fashion assistant, working my way up to style editor, and started this website back in 2009, during an ‘alternative media’ university class that taught us ‘how to set up a blog’. How strange that sounds, now. When I graduated, and wanted to see the world, the content of mine naturally evolved from fashion to travel, and now onwards to travel and adventure, and interiors, inspiration, family lifestyle and opinion.

What can you expect to find, here? Since falling pregnant in 2017, I realised that (cliché pending) every day really is an adventure; and not always the kind that you might ever expect. You’ll find features about family life, (mainly to share tips I would have loved to have read), from what to pack in your suitcase when going on holiday with a newborn to where in London is good to take a baby, and whether the tube exits have a lift. Plus, I kept pregnancy diaries – back when I thought I knew the real meaning of ‘being tired’. And, since moving out from our tiny London flat to green and leafy suburbs, we have taken on a renovation project of a house, which I am really enjoying giving the biggest of glow ups. From knocking down walls to finding storage solutions, and sourcing pretty things on a budget.

And since a huge part of my being is all about travel, here at Catherine Hudson Creative you’ll also find first-hand UK, and worldwide, destination and hotel reviews, often including video content, as well as top ten lists, family day out ideas, couples breaks, advice articles, and travel advice…

My holiday saviour. Thank you Catherine, you have taken all of the stress out of my holiday planning. Before I came across [Catherine Hudson Creative], I was endlessly searching and searching for information on Thailand; where’s good to go, what to expect, what to visit. I am now planned, booked and confident that I will make the most out of my trip. Next time Catherine Hudson Creative will be my first port of call.Abi Hutchinson, @_lady_abi
